Making your own apple chips is extremely easy. Pick a crisper apple to make these like Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Pink Lady. Avoid softer, mealier ones like red delicious as they just don't crisp up the same way. Slice the apples as thinly as you can into rounds, around 1/8" thick. We like using a mandoline to get thin and even slices, just use caution!
If you have an air fryer, use it! It'll yield extremely crispy chips and in much less time.
2 apples, thinly sliced
2 tsp. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
In a large bowl toss apples with cinnamon and sugar. Working in batches, place apples in a single layer in basket of air fryer (some overlap is okay).
Bake at 350° for about 12 minutes, flipping every 4 minutes.
